  • When do I need virtual or on site moving estimate?

In some cases, you may need on site or virtual estimate (via FaceTime), so we can provide you with a quite accurate quote. If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you may need it:

Do you have any large or bulky items (e.g., piano or pool table) that needs special attention?
Is your home 1,500 square feet or larger?
Does your home have any narrow hallways, doorways, or stairways that your items cannot fit through?
Are there any issues with parking a 26 ft. moving truck close to your home?
Are you moving out of state?

  • How long will it take to move my home?

Every move is individual and the time to complete it varies. The time to complete a moving job depends on move size, location, travel time and what services you need. Also there are some factors like walking distance from your front door to the moving truck, quantity of flights of stairs etc. It can add the moving time needed.
Minimum charge is 3 hours. Billing time starts when movers arrive to the origin address and stops when the job is finished.

  • What types of payment does Diamond Movers accept?

Cash, all major debit and credit cards are accepted. Additional payment options are PayPal, Venmo.
Diamond Movers does not accept personal checks as a valid form of payment for the services provided.

  • Do I need to be home during the move?

On the day of the move you need to be present. There are documents that should be signed. Also you need to show the movers exactly what is to be moved.

At the unload they will place boxes in rooms based on the notes on the boxes. It is helpful if you already have a basic idea where you want furniture placed. Furniture will be placed in the location you specify. Truck(s) must be inspected at the end of the move to ensure unloading of all your belongings.

  • What type of packing/unpacking services do you offer?

All the furniture will be shrink wrapped, so it won’t damage during travel time.
You can also choose to pack as much as you want: all the home stuff or just a room or few items. You can leave your wardrobe to us. We'll collect all your hanging items, pack them in our convenient wardrobe boxes and safely hang them in your new home.
We are here to make your move as smooth as possible!

  • What is double drive time?

In accordance with regulations of California Public Utilities Commission, driving time between point of origin and point of destination will be doubled. (Example: 15 Minutes of driving between your old and new place = 30 minutes of billing time)

    The actual CPUC law:
‘the time used shall be the total of loading, unloading and double the driving time from point of origin to point of destination.’ Unfortunately, ‘origin’ and ‘destination’ are interpreted differently by some moving companies. The generally accepted interpretation is the actual driving time between the customers origin location (the address you’re moving out of) to the destination location (the address you’re moving in to) is doubled and charged at the hourly mover rate.

As confusing as it may be, CPUC requires all moving companies use the double drive time law to protect consumers. Using double drive time provides visibility to the customer of the actual driving costs being paid and it compensates the moving company for their actual driving time, plus the time to return to the origin (where the job started).

Using the double drive time law, the customer is responsible for all drive time between the new and old house and the moving company is responsible for the driving time between their warehouse and the origin location.'
